Role Description
Tamarack is seeking an Analyst in Corporate Planning / Finance to assist in the successful development of the Company. The individual would be a key member of the Corporate Planning team and report to the Sr. Analyst, Corporate Planning & Risk Management, this role would focus on supporting all aspects of Corporate Planning, Risk Management, and Investor Relations. The successful candidate would also be involved in the preparation of materials for shareholders, prospective investors, executives, and the board of directors.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
- Reporting to the Sr. Analyst, Corporate Planning & Risk Management, the Analyst will support with all aspects of Corporate Planning, Risk Management, and Investor Relations;
- Assist in the development and maintenance of corporate communications including investor presentations, board presentations, website materials and updating internal reports relevant to corporate planning, investor relations, and corporate messaging;
- Assist in corporate financial analysis, capital budgeting, forecasting and benchmarking;
- Assist in managing databases for use by the Corporate Planning group and/or Tamarack management to better understand the competitive landscape of the North American energy industry;
- Maintaining & updating commodity price decks for use in the corporate model and by other groups in the Company;
- Ad hoc management reporting projects and dashboards.
Requirements
Specific skills and experience for this individual would include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Finance/Accounting), Economics, Mathematics or Engineering
- Enrollment, or an interest in the CFA/CPA program, and/or previous capital markets or corporate finance experience would be an asset;
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI would be an asset;
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal;
- A strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize deliverables to meet tight deadlines; and,
- Positive attitude with the ability to collaborate across disciplines in the company to support the integrated decision-making processes.
