Department Overview

As a retail electricity provider of the Rakuten Group, Rakuten Electricity provides "Rakuten Denki," an electricity service for general households, and "Rakuten Gas," a city gas service. Rakuten Electricity is expanding its services to become the No. 1 new electric power company by providing a safe, convenient, and affordable experience close to its users.

The service features a simple design with a basic charge of zero yen and a single metered charge based on the amount of electricity used, instead of the complicated and difficult electricity rate plans of the past. The service allows customers to receive Rakuten points based on their electricity bills and to pay their electricity bills with the points.

In addition, with the digitization of electricity meters, the development of mobile communication technology, and the spread of IoT and AI, energy data is becoming more visible, and in the near future, with the spread of distributed power resources such as solar power generation, storage batteries, and electric vehicles, control and optimization of electricity supply and demand using virtual power plants (VPP) In this future, the Rakuten Group will utilize its IT technologies and big data to establish a new electric power platform, where power generated by each household will be bundled and customers will trade power with each other.

Position Details

As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for KPI management and project promotion with the goal of improving customer satisfaction.

Specifically, the following will be scheduled, taking into consideration your experience to date.

- Design and analysis of surveys, coefficient management, and customer loyalty management

- Planning of KPI improvement of products through web page and system modification

- ROI estimation and system development prioritization

- Organizing issues, task management, and schedule management

- Publicity support such as PR (announcements on the web page, PR support within the group, etc.) and branding strategy

- Modification and addition of dynamic content

Mandatory Qualifications:

- 3+ years of product management experience (PM, PL, PDM, etc.) in IT or consulting industry

- Experience in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, identifying issues, building hypotheses, and planning and executing improvement plans

- Experience in service planning and direction of teams consisting of multiple professionals

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience in defining requirements from user and quality perspectives

- Experience in product management of cycle billing services

- Qualifications related to project management (project manager exam (IPA), PMP, etc.)
