The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) is currently seeking an Assessment Systems Analyst to join its Psychometrics team. In this role, the Assessment Systems Analyst is responsible for working on the development and maintenance of the information systems for the assessment product suite and ensuring staff can efficiently perform their jobs. The Assessment Systems Analyst will work closely with the Assessment Product Manager, users in the Assessment & Research division and serve as a liaison to the IT department.
Reporting to the Vice President, Psychometrics, the Assessment Systems Analyst has the following primary responsibilities:
Manage product backlogs for assessment product suite and assist in prioritization.
Assist in development and design of new products, product features and enhancements of existing products by working with the Assessment Product Manager and ABIM Project teams to perform requirements analysis and grooming.
Create system and technical documentation.
Manage and perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Point-of-contact for Assessment and Research staff to report product defects.
Troubleshoot, manage and report product defects to ABIM IT and other software vendors.
Develop solutions and workarounds for process and product issues.
Create and maintain user and product documentation.
Train staff on new and existing product features.
Proactively identify process and product improvements to ensure staff efficiency.
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science with a minimum of five years’ experience in Information Systems and/or Software Development; Lean Certification desired. The Assessment Systems Analyst must have a technical background in systems design and analysis including familiarity with databases and database queries and take a proactive approach to learning the assessment industry, the ABIM assessment product suite and the business processes for Test Development, Psychometrics and Exam Production.
The successful incumbent will have a strong foundation in the principles of systems analysis and design, experience working in an agile software development environment, understanding of relational databases, and the ability to write and execute SQL queries in Oracle and MS SQL Server. S/he must have excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent critical thinking and capacity for creative problem solving, and strong interpersonal skills. S/he will also be a motivated self-starter that can move effortlessly from working independently to actively participating as a collaborative member of a high-achieving team.
