The University of Kentucky seeks a full-time Business Intelligence Developer Senior in Lexington, Kentucky. This position is responsible for Business Intelligence (BI) Specialization duties (20%) including serving as an analytics subject matter expert (SME), providing analytical application guidance and data analysis to business domains and sub-domains and end users; supporting Epic upgrade tasks as a technical and analytical SME; BI Development duties (40%) including developing reports in SQL, reporting tools (e.g., Crystal Reports, Tableau) and Excel; developing complex SQL scripts, views, and stored procedures; developing data analysis services for UKHC and affiliates; developing/modifying effective analytical data assets (e.g., datasets, data marts, etc.) to meet organizational needs; BI Process duties (10%) including assisting customers with navigating reporting catalogs, metric definitions, and self-service tools; translating business questions and requirements into actionable information by utilizing analytical and data abstraction techniques (e.g.,. SQL queries) in a direct working relationship with clinicians; Continuous Service Improvement duties (10%) including supporting and endorsing the service-oriented organization in identifying and implementing improvements to IT services; Project Execution duties (10%) including mentoring others in successful achievement of project milestones; developing and executing solutions to meet project objectives; identifying, sequencing, and scheduling project tasks to ensure timely and effective completion of project deliverables and milestones; and Customer Service duties (10%) including prioritizing and responding promptly based on severity levels to customer needs as evidenced through completion of tasks in the IT Service Management and Project Management systems; working to efficiently resolve customer incidents, requests, and projects within the specified Service Level Agreements or milestones, or routing issues to appropriate person/department; proactively recognizing opportunities for service recovery and acting quickly to resolve issues. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or a foreign equivalent, and 2 years of experience in Business Intelligence (BI) reporting and analytics, and 2 years of experience using SQL.
